When he could, he saw all round him a sea of dark green, ruffled here and there by the breeze; and there were everywhere hundreds of butterflies.”
Here’s the thing–I have several misgivings and disappointments about the latest Hobbit trailer. (More on that later)
But if there is one thing that they got right – it is THIS scene. You might have missed it on your Hobbit read-through as a child, but as an adult it strikes a chord with me.
Because let’s face it, The Hobbit is basically a middle-aged-men-road-trip-of-spiritual-growth. This little moment is just one of many for stodgy Bilbo Baggins that the world out there is beautiful.
And for those of us with the wanderlust bug — I think we can very much relate =)
